I must apologise, as I haven't blogged much lately due to Virgin internet...
To make up for it, I'm going to blog quickly and concisely about drum related things which are currently on my mind:
Drum companies trying to re-invent the wheel.
Drums have been around for years and have pretty much been the same for the last 50. But nowadays you can apparently release roughly the same drum for around the £700 mark and justify it as "new". Not cool. Make good drums at a good price and cut the sales spiel.
I also have the same problem with artists making "art" and justifying a reason for making it with some very tall conceptual ideas...

QOTSA VS GODDARD
While trying to make my drum lessons more fun, I tried to do a mash up of some of my favourite songs, apparently;
Queens of the stone age VS The Beatles
Dennis Wilson VS Zwan
Joe Goddard VS Dennis Wilson
Doesn't really work...
But personally I think the combination of QOTSA and Joe Goddard does... It may need more "Wooooooshing"... But in the meantime enjoy!

Best of 2011... PT2
So I did promise a second part to my best of 2011, although fairly compact, here it is.
With a year of some pretty major "ups and downs" it would be bitchy and quite unhealthy to un earth last years previous musical misadventures...
So, as well as finally being properly employed to teach, working with an amazing drum company and meeting the most inspiring teachers I've ever had, this year was the beginning of Feral Prick.

2011 I bid you adieu.
