Sound Attak

A year after purchasing a certain cymbal from Sound Attak, I sadly had to inform them of it's demise. After a brief phone call and a short wait, a replacement was sent out to me and I was happy again. I tweeted into the ether of my experience, but 140 characters can't sum up how good this shop is. With the closure of many drum shops across the UK I thought it best to consign my experience to a blog rather than a tweet…

Years ago when I first started playing drums I would often visit Sound Attak with my dad, he would be baffled by the fact that you could call one cymbal "darker" than the other and warned me against the perils of black powder coating… I eventually settled on my first proper kit and I was away, never to look back.

As time passed I still visited the shop, adding to my repertoire an algamation of various mid priced cymbals, sticks and whatever my Saturday job wage could afford. The shop changed staff and buildings over the years but still retained that friendly vibe that I knew so well from when I first visited. I've since moved away from the surrounding area and sadly can't visit the store as regularly as I would like, but any chance to buy new drum stuff they're first in line. (ON-line that is!)

There's a worryingly true mentality of use it or lose it when it comes to drum stores, but for Sound Attak I can only see and hope that their future is as good as there service, past and present.

Sound Attak I salute you!
